Booty update #1

Eight weeks into my booty training and the progress is . . . . noticeable! My personal trainer friend, Michelle (who is motivating me big time), asked if I had padding in my pants this week. (Side note, years ago I would have been mortified, but working from a flat, athlete butt toward a toned, bubble butt definitely changes that!). Nope, just some perked up glutes! The bonus is that overall, my body is more toned than it has been in years. The crazy part of all of this is that I am lighter than my Ironman racing weight! Who would have thought that 3 hours of cardio a week (and a lot more lifting) would put me at a lower weight than 16 hours a week of IM training??

So the training continues with a little running added back in, but I'm not really pushing to add mileage. I have accepted that with my full-time work schedule and reduced training schedule, I will not be doing any half Ironman distances. I'm not the fast, short course specialist, but what the heck . . . . at least I'll have the nice butt!

I have also purchased my second pair of MBT shoes! I got the high model that looks more like athletic shoes than the really (really!) ugly pair I started with. MBT -- Major Booty Toning -- I'm telling you, these things are amazing. I wear them most of the time at work and on weekends and they are literally kicking my butt. And yes, Leon and Jim are now laughing to my face. . . .

OK, enough butt talk, the other fun stuff is that Michelle and I went for a makeover on Friday which was awesome!! Kimberly, our makeup goddess, was fantastic!! She totally got us -- I won't spend a lot of time and want to look natural and Michelle is the glam queen. Afterward Michelle picked out an outfit for me. It felt like Extreme Makeover! Now I just have to replicate the look . . . .

The boys are doing great. Liam's soccer team won the championship for the first session. He played goalkeeper in the last half when they were up 2-1 and I had to leave to take Conor home . . . . it was more nerve racking waiting to find out if they won. Conor had his first basketball game yesterday -- he's a natural. He's a ball hog, but a natural on the court. So now I just have to keep up with four soccer teams and two basketball teams for the next few months . . . . and continue my booty training!

Hope your training is going well too!
