Vacation

Love being on vacation - hate knowing I have to cut out all the food "cheats" when I get back home . . . . I still haven't seen my new meal plan, but JH has it so I'll get it when I get home.

Working out has been good -I've gotten to ride an hour, swim the 1.2 mile loop twice, and run a little over 2 miles. Plus, I did a yoga/stretch band workout and we all went to the gym yesterday. Conor is now obsessed with getting a six pack . . . honestly, I haven't been that focused on it, but maybe he's been peeking at my Abs magazine.

We got to go to the beach yesterday and today. I gotta admit, it's fun when I really don't have to worry about a little overhang here or there . . . . now if those aforementioned "cheats" don't undo all of my good work . . .

Speaking of cheats, I do get my pre-negotiated "burger and beer" on Monday to celebrate. Sad but true, I stopped at the Lake Placid Pub and Brewery on our walk home and snagged the menu and questioned the waitress about hamburger buns (why doesn't every restaurant offer whole wheat or whole grain??). I told JH he said I could have a beer, but he didn't say what size . . . I'm just gonna drink out of the pitcher ;-)

Ok, here's where my hard work has me thus far . . . .

Callahan reunion

Aunt Margaret's 90th birthday celebration!! I hope to be half as sharp as her at 90!!
The boys on the trampoline in the lake -- reminded me of reunions when I was little

The three wise men

Conor and Liam with Grandpa

Three generations of Callahans -- truly the luck of the Irish

Coach!! It wouldn't be a reunion without Coach there

Birthday treats

This week has been great for workouts, but bad for cheating. . . . the progress I've made is evident and now I'm taking little cheat snacks -- just about daily. Yikes - no need to undo all this work!!

Thursday I negotiated with John Henry about whether I could have a glass of wine for my birthday (belatedly) and a burger and beer in Lake Placid. The answer: pick ONE! OK, so no vino, but I'll enjoy that burger and beer in a couple weeks. That will also be the end of my little snacking crap too.

On the plus side, he had me leg press 315 lbs. -- um, I thought the 225 I did previously was badass!

I go again tomorrow after another posing session with Heidi. Michelle and co. are planning to be there too, so it should be interesting.

Progress photos

Here are my updated photos after 4 weeks of my nutrition plan and 1 session of posing . . .

I'm happy with my progress, but still have so far to go. I now think I'll compete one week before the October 3rd show in a smaller show in Youngstown. Heidi is awesome and gives me hope that I will be able to make it seem natural . . . . someday!

Love the legs!!! Thank you triathlon :-)

Posing and new photos

I have my posing coach, Heidi, and we start this Sunday morning bright and early!! Who am I kidding, I'm always up early . . . . anyway, I will have 4 weeks of my nutrition under my (shrinking!) belt and plan to do some photos to see where I'm at 3 months out --- yes, THREE months out!! I haven't lost that much and I'm hoping I'm gaining muscle still.

I worked out with Mike last week and I go again tomorrow. I definitely lifted heavier than ever before. I leg pressed more than Bill's weight of 218. My legs were sore until Sunday! One and a half hour of weights will do that, I guess. I'm heading up to hit the treadmill tonight, in spite of my headache.

On the tri front, I need to get some running (instead of walking) in if I want to do a respectable tri this season. My hip is hopefully, staying in place, but we'll see. Bill starts tapering for Lake Placid IM this weekend --- finally!

OK, check back for new photos this weekend . . . . :-)
